Genesys Spine, a renowned name in the medical device industry, has unveiled their latest creation - the AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System. This groundbreaking system aims to revolutionize cervical fusion procedures by offering a unique and efficient approach.
Traditionally, cervical spine fusions required the use of an interbody coupled with a cervical plate to provide stability and limit motion. However, the AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System eliminates the need for additional fixation by incorporating the fixation directly into the interbody. This innovative design eliminates the need for a cervical plate or other forms of supplemental fixation, streamlining the surgical process and enhancing patient outcomes.
One of the key features of the AIS-C system is its direct anterior approach, which allows for a smaller, mid-line incision. This approach offers numerous benefits, including reduced tissue disruption, decreased postoperative pain, and faster recovery times for patients. Additionally, the system utilizes a quick, simple, non-impacting anchor insertion method that does not require any additional instrumentation. The zero-step locking mechanism provides visual confirmation of engagement, ensuring secure fixation, while still allowing for easy anchor removal when desired.
Designed with patient and surgeon convenience in mind, the AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System offers various configurations to conform to varying patient anatomies, including parallel, lordotic, and convex options. The system is available in two footprints - small (14mm x 12mm) and large (17mm x 14mm) - and offers interbody heights ranging from 5mm to 12mm.
The development of the AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System was a result of extensive research, engineering analysis, and collaboration with renowned surgeons and clinicians. Genesys Spine's team of experts utilized advanced technologies, including SolidWorks for conceptualization, 3D printing for functional testing, and ANSYS mechanical Finite Element Analysis for fine-tuning. The system underwent rigorous testing according to ASTM standard test methods to ensure its safety and efficacy.
The AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System is a testament to Genesys Spine's commitment to innovation and excellence in the medical device industry. With its unique design, advanced features, and ease of use, this system is expected to set new standards in cervical fusion procedures.
Genesys Spine's AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System has already garnered recognition in the industry, winning the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Medical Devices and Medical Equipment category in 2019. This award recognizes the system's outstanding design, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, and its contribution to improving the quality of life for patients.
With the introduction of the AIS-C Cervical Stand-Alone System, Genesys Spine continues to push the boundaries of medical innovation, providing surgeons with cutting-edge tools to enhance patient care and outcomes.
